So last night a woman came in s/p Overdosing on Flexiril and Flurazepam. The EMS had a limited history because she was AMS upon EMS arrival, but from what family had said, she had taken 9 of each pill. Okay, so that’s a bit much but not a big deal. The EMS was told no alcohol was involved. 

So we find out after the mother (who was not on scene but talked to the daughter before the event) arrived at the ED that the pt actually took 90of both Flexeril and Flurazepam. At that exact moment her EtOH level came back over 300. And five seconds later she went into respiratory arrest while on Bipap. 

Needless to say she got tubed. Like stat. 

Shit storm narrowly avoided……..
