The other day I saw a nursing student use one of those fecal occult blood test developer things as a paperweight to hold down part of their hamburger wrapper while they were eating it

Needless to saw I involuntarily gagged and ran for the nearest bed pan

I am currently a nursing student. I have been a LPN for almost 9 years, and I will have my RN by May/June 2013 (knock on wood). I am REALLY interested in Emergency Medicine. I get bored with the same passing meds and doing treatments day after day to the same patients. I want to see traumas, different diseases, and other things. For some reason when I have been in a situation with my patients where it was ER, I think clearly. What would you recommend to someone interested in the ER field?

Oops! I just noticed this in my inbox. I would reply privately but, as I’ve recently been made aware that would link to me personal tumblr, I’ll have to do a public response.

Since I’m not a nurse I might not have the best response but hopefully  some of my followers can help you out.
If I’m not mistaken, the ER I work at actually has a few LPN/LVNs on staff that work in the ER while they’re going through the process of obtaining their RN. I don’t know if any ERs in your area do that, but it might be a good option. Once you get your RN I’m sure you could also find an ER nursing job (I’m not sure if there’s required experience in other nursing areas to get an ER nursing job though).

Any of my followers have a better answer than I do?

Doing another 18 hour shift

I’m going to try positive thinking

There will not be a code

There will not be any trauma

There will not be any sepsis

There will only be coughs, colds, and sore throats

I can’t decide on the distance required for it to fit under the criteria of “projectile vomiting”

rawrmonstah replied to your post: I haven’t been following you very long, but I had no idea you’re a girl. And then you started talking about clothes. -_-

You can use the GenderAnalyzer to analyze if a blog is written by a man or a woman. The good news is they are 85% sure you are a woman. genderanalyzer.com

This is awesome. Here’s some results from the gender analyzer:
